Art reflects the collective emotion of society in times of change and uncertainty. Artists can capture a moment in a way that politicians cannot, bending light, time, and space to convey courageous ideas and provoke reaction. Eventually the work they create becomes the visual vocabulary that's used to bring about societal change.

More work needs to be done to reform a society that has systematically silenced Black voices for centuries.
